The ’90s Dark Comedy That Also Kills Monsters

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is set in Hemery High School, which is a hotbed of teenage drama, but little do its students know that the real action lies in the shadows. Buffy Summers is a typical cheerleader who loves shopping and lives a seemingly idyllic life surrounded by her friends and boyfriend, Jeffrey (Randall Batinkoff).

However, Buffy’s life is turned upside down when a mysterious man named Merrick (Donald Sutherland) reveals her destiny as The Slayer – a Chosen One meant to battle vampires. At first, Buffy dismisses him, preferring to revel in her carefree lifestyle.
